Safety Coordinator (Manufacturing) – 2nd Shift

Location: Ponca City, OK area
Schedule: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 12:00 AM) | Some weekends as needed
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

A well-established manufacturing facility is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support plant leadership in building and maintaining a strong, proactive safety culture. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to help identify hazards, improve safety processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and prevent workplace incidents before they happen.

This is a hands-on, on-site role ideal for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working with teams, and driving real safety improvements.

Key Responsibilities

-Support the Safety Manager in implementing, maintaining, and improving safety programs and policies.

-Assist with reviewing and updating existing safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

-Partner with plant operations and leadership to evaluate work practices and recommend improvements to reduce risk.

-Lead incident reporting and investigation efforts, including: Root cause analysis, assigning corrective actions, tracking action items to completion, and developing and delivering monthly safety training for plant employees.

-Conduct specialized safety training as needed and continuously improve training effectiveness.

-Perform routine safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

-Promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture throughout the facility.

Required Qualifications

-Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (assembly, machine shop, or similar).

-Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.

-OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (strongly preferred).

-Experience delivering safety training and supporting safety programs.

-Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage multiple priorities.

-Strong organizational and communication skills.

-Comfortable working in environments that may include: Strong smells, loud noise, hot/cold temperatures, refrigerated and freezer areas.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in food manufacturing

  • Safety-related degree or formal safety education

  • CPE, CSP, or CIH certification
